About Us

The Golden Crescent Chapter of the Texas German Society, Victoria, Texas was founded on July 26, 1994.  Many German nationals settled in the Victoria area and surrounding counties in the mid to late 1800's.  They traveled by sailing ships which landed primarily in the Galveston and Indianola Texas ports.  Some immigrants also traveled overland from many sites in the eastern parts of the United States.  Our organization has approximately 45+ members, with ancestry roots back to those early immigrants.

The chapter meetings are held on the first Thursday of every second month.  They are held at the First United Methodist Church, Victoria, Texas.  We use the Wesley Hall at 407 North Bridge Street.  The meetings consist of business transactions, speakers on German topics, luncheon, and game socials. The Thurdsday meetings begin at 7:00 pm. The picnic and Christmas meeting times may vary in time.

Membership dues are $15.00 per member for the year.  Additional fees are charged for special social events held during the year.
